• KOTFM opened with $44M worldwide, good for his second biggest opening ever.

• Martin Scorsese has joined Letterboxd and is being very active on the app… SOUND THE ALARMS, THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

• Speaking of Marty, Millennials & Gen Z love him…46% of the opening night moviegoers for Killers of the Flower Moon were under 35 years old.

I loved this film, a technical marvel with star performances across the board…draped over a dark and harrowing narrative. Review below.

• Casting updates for the upcoming Guillermo Del Toro Frankenstein film: Oscar Isaac is the Monster, Andrew Garfield is the Doctor and Mia Goth will be the Bride. BANGER.

• We’re getting a Phineas & Ferb revival which takes place the Summer after the original series. I know this had a cult following, so rejoice.

• Zack Snyder announced that his upcoming film Rebel Moon is expanding and getting a companion, prequel comic series. We will be reading.

• Love this art from Uzuri, depicting what Baylan Skoll might have looked like during the Clone Wars. Badass.

• The Fortnite team shipped out care packages to their biggest creator partners, giving some hints as to what’s to come and a quick clip of some of their memorable moments. They're even working with the top dogs like TimTheTatman, sending IRL props to their houses.

• Twitch has announced that creators can now simulcast their Twitch stream to any live streaming service. Interesting timing, Twitch.

• Robert Pattinson’s The Batman suit has been added to Batman: Arkham Knight and it’s BEAUTIFUL. You have to see this.

• Xbox and PlayStation both had advertisements on The Sphere in Vegas last week…rumored to have cost hundreds of thousands of dollars for a 90-second marketing spot. WILD.

Best Movies to Watch During The Fall

Back in August, we compiled the Modern Mythos: Summer Collection - a grouping of our community’s favorite movies that feel like Summer. Now it's time to build out a list of our favorite Fall vibes movies.

When I think of Fall, I'm looking for Halloween stuff, sure, but there's also another vibe there. The seasonal change makes me feel like a different man than I was in the Summer - I know that's dramatic, but it's real. Without leaning too hard on the classics, here are some of my picks:

The Batman. The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Star Wars. Good Will Hunting. Dune. Knives Out. Harry Potter: Prisoners of Azkaban. When Harry Met Sally. The Town. Halloweentown. It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Se7en. The Bourne Trilogy. School of Rock. Superbad.

The Social Network (2010) | Drama | Prime Video ($3.89)

As Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg creates the social networking site that would become known as Facebook, he is sued by the twins who claimed he stole their idea and by the co-founder who was later squeezed out of the business.

This isn’t a hidden gem or presenting new information, but it’s come to my attention that there are still far, far too many people who haven’t seen this film so it’s a personal mission of mine to change that. The Social Network might be Fincher’s best work and it’s something we can all connect with. Jesse Eisenberg. Andrew Garfield. Justin Timberlake. 5 stars.

📺 My Watchlist

Killers of the Flower Moon - Just let Scorsese cook and get the fuck out of the way. Was this long as shit? Yes. Was it heavy? Yes. Did the guy next to me tank a bottle of wine? Also yes. Was I locked in for 3.5 hours? Abso-fucking-lutely. 4.5 stars. Full review here.

Loki S2 E3 - This show is the best thing the MCU has done since the Infinity Saga. Great cast. Great story. Production is better than almost every MCU project. I'm thankful this exists.

Gen V E6 - Ramps up each week, character moments have been fantastic and the world-building is elite. Only two episodes left until the end, which is upsetting.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 - I’m happy to report that this is every bit as good as the first two installments and makes plenty of improvements. It looks and feels like a true ‘next-gen’ game. This will be the game that kids grow up with and idolize, and I'm jealous.

• These guys dressed up as paparazzi for Halloween and had another friend dress up as a bodyguard…content gold.

• Javier Barden and Josh Brolin on the set of No Country for Old Men…for the vibes.

• This guy’s gaming group pitched in and bought him a PS5 when he was the last left on PS4. Extremely wholesome.

• This gator emerges out of the water whenever the Imperial March is played. King.

• Never change, Ryan Reynolds.

• “Dad, how was gaming with the homies during the covid lockdown?”

• Jacob Elordi’s first celebrity crush was Brad Pitt in Troy…I feel you, dog.
